NEET UG Exam 2025 Major Updates

  1. City Selection Process:
    • Candidates can choose three cities for their exam center while filling out the NEET 2025 application form.
    • Cities must be selected in order of preference, restricted to the state of the student’s address (permanent or present).
    • This ensures travel convenience for all applicants.
  2. Exam Centres in India:
    • Total number of exam centers in India reduced to 552, five fewer than last year.
    • Number of international exam cities remains the same at 14.
  3. No Optional Questions:
    • The updated exam pattern eliminates optional questions, streamlining the exam format.
  4. NEET UG Tie-Breaking Method Revised:
    • In case of tie-breaking situations, an independent expert committee will resolve ties using a “random process.”
    • This follows last year’s omission of the application number and age criteria from the tie-breaking rules.
  5. Extended Centre Opening Time:
    • Exam centers will open three hours before the exam starts (previously two hours).
    • Centers will open at 11:00 AM to allow candidates extra time for entry, security checks, and other procedures.

Important Points to Remember While Choosing the Medium of NEET 2025

  • The medium of the question paper must be selected while filling the NEET 2025 application form.
  • Once chosen, the language cannot be changed after submission.
  • English medium candidates will receive the Test Booklet in English only.
  • Other languages will receive a bilingual Test Booklet in their selected language and English.
  • The English version of the question paper is final in case of any ambiguity in translation.
