Samarkand State Medical University (SamDTU) has announced the establishment of a strategic cooperation with “Meros Pharm” company, a leading pharmaceutical organization. This collaboration aims to enhance academic, scientific, and practical initiatives between the two institutions.
On February 6, 2025, a high-level meeting was convened between the management of Samarkand State Medical University and the management of “Meros Pharm” company. The meeting focused on reviewing the achievements of both institutions over the past five years, discussing the implementation of joint projects, and exploring future prospects for cooperation.
During the meeting, the rector of Samarkand State Medical University, Jasur Rizayev, and the founder of “Meros Pharm” company, Nasimjon Komilov, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to formalize their bilateral cooperation. The MoU outlines several key areas of collaboration, including:
- Enhanced Participation of University Faculty: The memorandum emphasizes the increased involvement of university professors and teachers in scientific-practical and production processes, fostering a closer integration of academia and industry.
- Development of Educational Bases: The establishment of educational bases for students of the Faculty of Pharmacy at SamDTU and residents of the master’s degree programs in pharmacies owned by “Meros Pharm” is planned. This initiative aims to train highly skilled personnel through collaborative efforts, integrating scientific research with practical applications.
- Educational and Production Bases in “Meros International Hospital”: The development of educational and production bases within the “Meros International Hospital” clinic is also planned. This will facilitate the training of specialists in master’s degree and clinical residency programs, ensuring a robust pipeline of well-trained medical professionals.
- Introduction of the “Meros Pharm” Scholarship: To further support academic excellence, the introduction of the “Meros Pharm” scholarship for university students is also planned. This scholarship will provide financial support and opportunities for students to engage in advanced research and practical training.
The signing of the memorandum marks a significant step forward in the collaboration between Samarkand State Medical University and “Meros Pharm” company.
